Welcome to the TRAINING STATION BLOG

New posts will be up through the week.

To start things off let me say an early happy THANKSGIVING to eveyone.

As most of you know, I am an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder. I won the Over 40 Masters National Championships in 2008 to obtain my pro status. It has been a rocky road in the pro ranks, but I have not been discouraged at all, as I love a good challenge. My best placing so far has been 6th in the Sacramento Pro in 2010, and now I'm getting ready for the Flex Pro on February 18th, and the Desert Muscle Classic on February 25th.

Training for a contest, most think all I do is do some extra CARDIO...but that is far from the truth.

Dieting is about 80% of the work, and most of my clients think i'm joking when I say I eat MORE when i'm trying to get in shape. The reason why I want to blog about my DIET, is to show you how hard it is even for me, as there will be many times I want to give up, and say...i'm going out for a pizza.

My dad taught me a long time ago that we all put our pants on one leg at a time when we start our day off...i'm no better at this crap than any of you, I just have way more experience at it. If I can inspire you in reaching your goals...awesome!

My blog is not going to focus just on me training for my contest, as it will provide infomation on TRAINING, NUTRITION, and SUPPLEMENTS....HOWEVER all i hear latley in the studio is how hard it will be to eat well over the HOLIDAY SEASON, So I want to share with all of you on how I will get the job done in getting in shape over this time of the year, and maybe...just maybe you guys will put that sugar coated cookie down, and pick up a protein shake instead.

If I can do this over the HOLIDAY SEASON....So can you you! ( IT'S MY FIRST TIME DOING THIS OVER THE HOLIDAYS )

I have about 14 weeks to get ready, and here is an example of my training, and diet for the FLEX PRO, and DESERT MUSCLE CLASSIC.

Training:

4 day split. Training the whole body over 4 days, with a rest on the 5th day. (i will go into detail in future blogs)

Diet:

I use SEA SALT on all my food, drink 1 gallon of water daily, and always eat every 3 hours.

Meal 1 - 1/4 cup of cream of rice, and 8 egg whites with 1 yolk

Meal 2 - 3 scoops of whey isolate protein powder, and 1 sweet potatoe

TRAIN at 11:00 am / During training - 1 scoop of Vitargo (fast acting complex carb) and 1 scoop of creatine

AFTER TRAING (WITHIN 30 MIN) 1 scoop of Vitargo, and 3 scoops of whey isolate protein powder

Meal 3 - (1 hour after post workout drink)  8 ounce of red meat,  1 cup of brown rice, 1 cup of asparagus

Meal 4 - 8 ounces of grilled chicken breast,  1 sweet potatoe, 1 cup of string beans

Meal 5 - 8 ounces of flounder, 1 cup of brown rice, and 1 cup of asparagus.

Well thats pretty much it. But when my metabolism cranks up in the next few weeks, i'll be ADDING another meal to this program. It is NOT ENJOYABLE  getting in shape, and i'd rather EAT on thanksgiving, but like I said...I love a good challenge!

Thanks for following me.
